The Castlerea Rose Festival would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who played a part in making the 2025 festival such a wonderful success.
Firstly, to our incredible committee members – from those who’ve been with us for years to the new faces who joined this year – your dedication, long hours, and good humour are what make the festival possible.
To Charlotte O’Toole and Roscommon Volunteer Centre, Roscommon Civil Defence, An Garda Síochána, and John Higgins and his team – your support and presence ensured safety and smooth running throughout the week. Our thanks also to Roscommon County Council for their continued backing.
We are indebted to our volunteers and stewards – from our new communities who bring such wonderful spirit, to our faithful regulars who are always there to help. Without you, there would be no festival.
Our thanks also go to our local venues – Trinity Arts Centre, The Hub, the GAA Centre, Castlerea Library, and Tully’s Hotel – for hosting events; to those who donated treasured photographs for our exhibition; to our race jockeys and sponsors; to Print Depot and Roscommon Signs for their excellent service; to Sam, who manages our website; and to Konrad and the swimming pool team for their involvement.
We extend our gratitude to our Rose judges – Laura, Deirdre, and Emma – for their careful work, and to our seven fantastic Roses who brought joy, fun, and energy to the festival all week. A special word of thanks also to our escorts Joseph and Jamie for supporting the Roses. Congratulations to Saoirse Webb, crowned Rose of Castlerea 2025. Our special thanks also to Tara Muldowney, Rose co-ordinator, for her tireless work behind the scenes.
We’d also like to recognise Maggie O’Grady and Castlerea Defib Group, Just Go Fitness, Castlerea Community Playschool and Mrs. Mannion, Castlerea Celtic, Castlerea Crusaders AC, Rudie our photographer, Mulvihill’s Bar, Olivia from Empower Fit, Castlerea Livestock Mart, Castlerea Golf Club, Jacinta Beatty and the Parish Council, and The Cosy Bar – each of whom played an invaluable part in the festival programme.
